Most people hate brussels sprouts. I get it. I am sure that it is because they have only had them steamed or worse yet boiled. Here is a recipe I am sure will change everyone's mind. . .
ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
olive oil
salt
pepper
red pepper flakes
orange peel shards (thin strips)
Clean the brussels sprouts. If you have very large ones then slice them in half, otherwise keep them whole. Put in a roasting pan. Sprinkle with: about 3-4 Tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, red pepper flakes (use 1/4-1/2 tsp depending on how spicy you like things). Roast at 350-400 degrees for approximately 30 minutes. You want the brussels sprouts to begin to carmelize (turn dark brown in some spots).
If you think these are good then you must try Michael Symon's fried brussels sprouts at Roast in Detroit. - wow!!!
