The attached post makes reference to Thanksigiving - sorry it's late, but it's a good reminder we should carry with us all year not just at Thanksgiving. Most people are reminded to be thankful during this holiday just as most are reminded to be giving at Christmas. It's what we do that is not "in season" that really shows our character.
Too often we get caught up in the "what's wrong" with everything and look beyond all of the things to be grateful for. We can complain about work, but we should be grateful we have jobs. We can complain about bills, but we should be grateful that we have water and heat and electricity (even when someone at my house flushes on you when you are in the shower and the water turns off). We can complain and find fault with the people around us, but we should always remember to be grateful that we have them in our lives.
I write often about making lists. For me there is a sort of stick-to-it-ness to putting something in writing. Whether you write it yourself or receive a written note, when it is there in writing it is has more staying power. It's nice to hear from loved ones, but isn't it so much nicer when they send you a message that you can refer back to? I keep them all. Make a list of all the things you are grateful to have in your life. Keep your list handy for when you need a pep talk. It is always helpful to remember what we are grateful for and it is sure to put a smile on your face every time you see your list.
